Brake pads worn out or switched by shop?
So back in July my dad and i replaced the break pads on his 2007 honda accord. The front pads were at 5-10% and the back were around 50%. So we only replaced the front pads. Brand new honda pads we bought from the dealer.
In October we get a letter saying the 03-07 models of accords have a computer error that needs to be fixed. We go to the dealer and they do their update and then come back and tell my dad he needs his pads replaced. They say fronts at 5% and rears at 0%. This is 3-4 months after we changed the pads and about 2000-3000 miles. These are suburban and highway miles.
Even if we screwed up the brake pad install on the front, which i dont think we did, is it possible for both the front and back pads to go from 100% and 50% to 5% and 0%, respectively, in 4 months and 3000 miles later?
So did the dealer switch the pads up? Its a honda dealer ship and it has HORRIBLE reviews.

here’s one of there reviews, just in case you wanna know:
I wish I could give more than one star, but they don’t honor warranties. My husband took his car in because the clutch went bad. He heard multiple excuses from the service guy who went so far as say that he called Honda Corp and they told him they won’t cover it. Castle Service gave my husband ridiculous prices saying if he wants his car fixed it will be an out-of-pocket expense (anywhere from $ 600-$ 2600).
My husband then called Honda Corp and they said Castle Honda never called them to authorize work and of course it’s under warranty. Honda Corp got in touch with Castle and instructed them to fix the car today and to send Honda Corp the bill. Castle refused to do the work because they’ll make more money if the customer pays than if Honda reimburses them.
The Honda rep then told my husband to get his car out of that place as fast as possible and take it to Muller… the guy was flabbergasted and said he’d never heard of a Honda dealership refusing to honor warranties. He’s taking the situation to a higher power. Good luck, Castle.
@dk.. Yea we replaced them all today, my dad didn’t check the pads until now because he heard it squealing today. He thought the guy was lieing to him so he didnt bother to check, he didnt think the dealership would actually switch out the pads or that they could wear out in that short of a time.
and yea they were all at 0-2%
